Poor Italy…! Same people running same show

Posted on 11:48 AM by Unknown

An excellent article here from Adrian Salbuchi

http://rt.com/op-edge/italy-government-letta-monti-610/

After learning that Enrico Letta is Italy’s new prime minister, I offer my sympathies to Italians. To say the usual suspects are back is to underline the plight of the Italian people as they are made poorer by the politicians who run their country.

In the game of Italian prime ministers: the Trilateral Commission’s European Chairman Mario Monti is out; and Trilateral Commission Member Enrico Letta is in. Long live the Trilateral Commission!

It seems that there is just nothing any country in the West can do to free itself from the shackles of the Global Power Masters and their Megabankers.
No matter what elections are held; no matter what mass demonstrations bring citizens on to the streets; no matter how many signs are shown on millions of TV screens accusing the Megabankers of being the worst crooks, the truth is there for all to see: the Global Power Masters have taken over governments in country after country, enslaving all nations to their Megabankers.

The mainstream media broadcast it; the alternative media point out the sheer inhumanity of it all, even in the European Union where double-digit unemployment is rampant, banks are fraudulently ‘bailed-in’ by stealing account holders’ money, and millions of workers’ houses are foreclosed on.
There just does not seem to be anything anybody anywhere can do about it.

It all basically boils down to the vast majority of working people in just about every country suffering the most perverse, unfair and blatant discrimination of all: when small but extremely powerful, unelected and illegitimate minorities discriminate against the vast majority of disorganized and as-yet-unawakened citizens.
This is not a ‘conspiracy theory’ or any such rubbish. This is something that’s right before our eyes. All you need to do is look in the right places, see who are running this ‘greatest show on Earth’, and then think with your own commonsense mind instead of letting CNN or Rupert Murdoch do the ‘thinking’ for you.

After three-time premier Silvio Berlusconi sank Italy to new depths of decadence where its workers have been sucked into an economic Eurocratic maelstrom that finally led to his resignation in November 2011, the Megabankers decided at the time to take over Italy outright.
That was when they replaced Berlusconi with Mario Monti of Trilateral Commission glory as Italy’s prime minister, as we then explained on RT.
Now, after Italy’s recent elections we saw its aging President Giorgio Napolitano again put a Rockefeller/Rothschild Boy in power; because Enrico Letta too is a Trilateral Commission member. And to make sure that Megabanker theft is duly supplemented by traditional Italian political mafias, Letta’s coalition government includes members of Berlusconi’s party. After all, his uncle Gianni Letta was/is Berlusconi’s right-hand man. So, yes indeed: Poor Italy!

Who are these people?

The Trilateral Commission brings together Rockefeller, Morgan, Warburg, Rothschild, Lazard, Goldman Sachs and Soros banking interests under the aegis of global power elite geopolitical planners like Sir Henry Kissinger, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Dominique Moïsi, Richard Perle, Philip Zelikow and Paul Wolfowitz, amongst many others.

Notably, both PMs, the outgoing Mario Monti and incoming Enrico Letta, serve the Trilateral Agenda shoulder-to-shoulder with the top-brass from such global megabanks as CitiCorp, HSBC, Barclays, Nomura, Banco Santander, BBVA Bank, UBS, NM Rothschild, Deutsche Bank, BNP, Commerzbank,  Goldman Sachs, Lazard, Mediobanca, Morgan Stanley, Warburg Pincus, Bank of Nova Scotia, Bank of New York Mellon, and Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi and Overworld banking agencies like the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Federal Reserve Bank, Bank of England, European Central Bank, Dutch Central Bank, Bank of  Greece, and Bank of Japan.  Just a sampling to show that this is a most powerful high-class money club if ever there was one.

At 70, Monti is an elderly man; at 46, Letta is a promising young politician. In Italian politics it seems that the more things change, the more they stay the same.
The key question that should once again be on every Italian’s mind is: will Enrico Letta work to improve the plight of the Italian people or to promote bankers’ interests? Former Argentine President Juan Perón once said that all nations’ presidents and premiers have a foremost decision to make: they either govern to promote and protect the interests of their people over and above those of the global megabankers, or they merely work for the global megabankers and against their own people.

It’s a political coin that has had to be tossed by leaders time and again since the times of Jesus…  Those making the right decision for their people often end up ousted, assassinated and demonized.
Looking at the list and track records of Trilateralists who have been catapulted into the highest echelons of power in government – Papademos in Greece, Monti in Italy, Cavallo in Argentina, Bill Clinton and George HW Bush in the US, Horst Kohler in Germany, Toomas Ilves in Estonia, Condoleezza and Susan Rice (yes, both of them!) in the US – one can see a pattern.

So, yes: friends, Romans and countrymen everywhere, the Trilateral Commission certainly does nave enormous clout and leverage to promote its globalist agenda over and above every country’s national interest.

Who decides?

Letta’s ascent to become Italy’s new prime minister – a country with huge economic, financial, social and political problems – once again raises the question: Who decides?

Is it the Italian people who have freely and democratically chosen to have an elite megabanker-friendly bureaucrat run their country or – as in Greece, France, the UK and so many other countries - is there a hidden hand that discretely catapults its own servants into the highest places of power?
Do ‘We, the People’ ever really decide anything or are we just asked to ‘legitimize’ through some high-profile election, decisions they have already taken? Do our real ‘political choices’ thus boil down to two, maybe three, elite candidates? A sort of ‘you-can-have-Coke-or-Pepsi’ non-choice?

If this only happened in Italy, we could say that it’s some sort of ‘Italian problem’.  But, no: there’s clearly a pattern whereby global power-brokers first recruit and then very discretely promote their chosen players to the top echelons of entities like the Trilateral Commission where they are suitably groomed, positioned, prepared, coached and politically and financially ‘armed’. Normally, such individuals have little or no allegiance to their countries of origin and countrymen, but rather are align to the supranational globalist agenda.

And they plan well in advance too!  An April 27 FoxNews TV report just aired a pro-Bush Family program showing that The Powers That Be are already busy toying with the idea that Jeb Bush – another ‘Baby Bush’ – might just be the right guy to run for president of the United States on the Republican Party ticket in 2016’s presidential elections.

Not surprisingly, many powerful Democrats are, in turn, already working to put Hillary Clinton as their candidate for those presidentials.
That would mean that in 2016 the American people just might have to choose between Jeb Bush (son of Trilateral member George HW Bush) and Hillary Clinton (wife of Trilateralist Bill Clinton).  I know, I know: just a coincidence….

Come to think of it, maybe the title of this article should not just be ‘Poor Italy…’, but rather ‘Poor Italy and Greece and Argentina and Germany and USA and Estonia and…’.
Benjamin Disraeli - British Queen Victoria’s prime minister in the 19th century - once said that “The world is governed by very different personages from what is imagined by those who are not behind the scenes.”

A lucid vision from someone who was in a position to know.  Add to this 21st century trillions of money-sloshing politics and, once again, we see that on the global political stage, money does indeed make the world go around.

State Aggression in Clonmoylan

Posted on 7:42 AM by Unknown

The 20th and 21st of June will mark the first anniversary of what has become known as the Siege of Clonmoylan. See below for a report on events of 20/21 June 2012.

That the Armed Support Units were present is a disgrace in itself. The month of May, the month of the Blessed Virgin Mary is also the month when the Irish people recall the executions of the patriots of 1916. Did these men, the cleanest and bravest, fight and die only for the Irish to be living in an oligarchy, the servile state, where people are slaves? Are the Irish going to sit back and be dictated to by unelected bureaucrats in the EU, whose only loyalty is to International Finance and big business?

You are encouraged to ask questions of your local politician. They knocked on your door at the last election. By using this link http://www.contact.ie/city-county-councils/galway-county-councillors you can email all the county councillors in Galway. Also phone them and speak to them face to face.  For All TDs http://www.contact.ie/national-politicians/contact-all-tds

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Barroughter-Clonmoylan-Bogs-Action-Group

Never, in the history of peacetime Ireland was such State aggression shown against a small rural parish as was carried out by two Fine Gael Ministers, Alan Shatter and Jimmy Deenihan in Clonmoylan on June 20th and 21st last year. These two men would do well to reflect on the principles and ideals of the great people who founded our Nation. Over the years, no Garda ever had to visit this tranquil rural law abiding community to investigate crime. The only Garda mode of transport not in Clonmoylan that night was the helicopter and the Peelers on Horseback. The two fully loaded Armed Support Units were deployed against innocent people. The right of every Irish citizen to pass and repass on the roadway was infringed that night. Such State aggression that night put an end to good Garda Community Relations. They even called out the Red Community Relations van to help steal the machinery.

State Harassment Of Turf-Cutters Continues

Posted on 8:41 AM by Unknown

Two men from Kerry are to appear in court on 9th May.  Later in the month (28th May) four men are to appear in court in Galway. Aerial monitoring continues and the Department vows to continue using aircraft to fly over homes in rural Ireland. Also resources must be questioned as up to 50 Gardai were present in Loughrea in Co. Galway when the four men appeared in court. This comes at a time when elderly people are being beaten and robbed in their own homes in rural Ireland.

Our message to the turf-cutters is to continue using your constitutional right to cut turf on your own land. A weekly picket takes place outside the constituency office of Jimmy Deenihan in Listowel.

Thought and Action is encouraging people to show support for the men both in Kerry on the 9th May and in Galway on the 28th May. Regarding the ‘rangers’, they are trespassing if found on private property. Don’t let them enter your property. Keep calm, keep a level head but above all cut your turf and tell the EU to sod off.

Photo: Nothing has been done by Enda Kenny and his Minister for bogs, Jimmy Deenihan to solve the State created problem with private property bogs owners since all turf cutting ceased last year. Kenny will not engage with the huge number of turf cutters and private property bog owners. He would not even speak with the assembled owners during his visit to Abbey. The cowardly Cannon who came in the car with him has done absolutely nothing to progress matters.

‘Attack the Tax’ makes front page of the Derry Journal

Posted on 4:00 PM by Unknown

By now  readers and supporters of Thought and Action will have heard of ‘Attack The Tax’, an excellent initiative in relation to the household charge and  property tax. Thought and Action remains opposed to a tax on the family home.

The well attended meetings organised by Attack The Tax have been largely ignored by the media. The alternative media and the old fashioned leafleting and talking to people has worked. This is countering the blatant lies and spin from the likes of Michael Noonan and Revenue.

The Westmeath Examiner and the Derry Journal are among those regional newspapers to have given coverage to the campaign.  Meetings of ‘Attack The Tax’ continue weekly and check out www.attackthetax.com  for updates and a venue near you.

Abortion and Ireland

Posted on 4:32 AM by Unknown

Thought and Action leaflets have gone out in relation to abortion and a community action video should be posted in the next couple of days. There has been a technical issue in uploading the video.  The following is from Youth Defence.

Abortion is a part of the attack against the family and Nation. Just as the political class propose to legislate for the direct and intentional killing of our unborn children, our future generation, there are young and old in Ireland resisting these politicians to the face.

With four turf-cutters in court in Galway on 28th May, there is a weekly picket outside the constituency office of Jimmy Deenihan in Listowel, Co. Kerry. The picket is every Saturday from 11am to 1pm. You are encouraged the support the Kerry turf-cutters. The Kerry Brigade has been very good in travelling to Co. Galway in solidarity with their fellow countrymen and women facing down intimidation over their right to cut turf in their own community.

Save Europe's bees!!

Posted on 1:21 PM by Unknown

A regular reader of Thought and Action has sent in the following. T&A supports good food and good farming and opposes these bee-harming pesticides.

http://www.goodfoodgoodfarming.eu/eventsactions/bee-action.html

“Is it possible for you to send this link to many people asking them to send emails as described to Coveney and Irish EU ag rep (all details are at link, very little effort required).

It needs action over next few days.

http://www.goodfoodgoodfarming.eu/eventsactions/bee-action.html

It appears the companies have been heavily lobbying the politicians and the bureaucrats in recent months so WE THE PEOPLE need to get a voice in there, and pronto.”

“The European Commission has proposed a ban on the use of bee-harming pesticides (neonicotinoids) for an initial 2 year period. This move is a step in the right direction to save our bees and ensure good food and good farming in Europe.”

CORRUPT STATE JAILS HARRY REA

Posted on 12:17 PM by Unknown

Thought and Action is happy to share this notice and is calling for the immediate release of Mr Harry Rea from Cork Prison.

PRESS RELEASE – CORRUPT STATE JAILS HARRY RAE

http://untoldstoryout.wordpress.com/reference-material/state-v-harrys-family

Published April 16, 2013 | By Institute of Family and Marriage – Press Release

Harry Rea is in prison for not accepting the State can divorce him against his conscience

Institute of Family and Marriage
Media Press Release
DUBLIN, IRELAND, April 16, 2013 -

The Institute of Family and Marriage are today announcing that Harry Rea, who is a well known and respected champion for Life and Family in Ireland was arrested and taken directly to Cork Prison without a trial last Thursday 11 April 2013 because he steadfastly refuses to agree that the State can force him to accept he is divorced.

As a practicing Catholic and a Deserted Spouse Harry asserts the amendment to the Constitution to allow couples to Divorce was never intended to nor lawfully could allow for practicing Catholics and Deserted Spouses to be divorced against their conscience and will.

This doesn’t suit the Divorce industry as if this knowledge was broadcast widely their only money trail will dry up.

To silence Harry and to frighten other such Spouses they have put him in prison for 3 months – for refusing to accept the decree of Divorce. Harry’s Family Home where he lives and works with his children and grand-daughter is under siege whilst he is prison.

Roger Eldridge, CEO of the Institute of Family and Marriage will be in the High Court today 16 April 2013 to apply for a writ of Habeas Corpus on the basis that the State can not lawfully hold Harry in prison and will be arguing that the legal Family Law industry is purposely mis-representing and misinterpreting the Family Law (Divorce) Act as if it were adversarial and fault based whereas the people amended the Constitution to only allow for couples to use it who both believed their Marriage was dead and who wanted to re-marry.

Using it wrongly is destroying many Families and ending Marriages which would otherwise be saved.

Please come along and support Harry and Marriage and the Family in the High Court today.

God Bless, Roger Eldridge

The Mood Of The Irish People!

Posted on 11:42 AM by Unknown

An excellent comment.

http://namawinelake.wordpress.com/2013/04/18/hey-world-if-you-want-to-see-what-a-true-nanny-state-looks-like-look-at-what-ireland-has-just-done/#comments

“I am shocked that there are no bullets flying yet. Seriously. Bankers DESTROY the economy. Utterly – to the point, over twelve THOUSAND companies have folded since Fine Gael took over. Over 180 thousand people have emigrated – that’s famine levels – since Fine Gael and Labor stuck their collective bits into the public orifice.

And yet. Bankers – and the politicians that got us into this mess – still drive around in posh cars. Still get million euro bonuses in some cases, quarter-million yearly incomes or more in others. Still are not prosecuted and jailed. And yet, because we are bailing out these animals – by force, let it not be confused here, you are held over a barrel while your family suffers to bail these corrupt monsters out – families cannot afford to keep their loans up.

We are paying the shortfall. There is no evidence provided to this date that our taxes are NOT paying the shortfall that our loans take up. So why should we take the slack? Why should my family suffer because a wealthy banker wanted their miserable little grub-sucker children to go to the top private schools, while mine cannot even get the education I pay taxes to obtain?!?

Where are the bullets? Where are the angry mobs surrounding banker and politician homes, demanding blood and bone? We are so conditioned that our ancestors are weeping in their graves.

One word for you bast-rds. NO. Or NO. And NO.”

“Sunset Clause” and Abortion

Posted on 7:37 AM by Unknown

The Irish Constitution acknowledges the right to life of the unborn. Direct and intentional killing of unborn child through abortion is always wrong. A “sunset clause” or anything that betrays the innocent must be rejected. We stand firmly against the spilling of innocent blood through abortion. Let’s continue to pray and act accordingly to stop the shedding of innocent blood in Ireland.

Big Phil's big bill

Posted on 10:00 AM by Unknown

The comments after the article speak for themselves.

http://www.independent.ie/irish-news/big-phils-big-bill-in-exotic-bird-brasserie-29194727.html

NICK WEBB BUSINESS EDITOR – 14 APRIL 2013

Environment Minister Phil Hogan and some of his departmental advisers clocked up bills of €133,000 jetting around the world – including €800 for a lunch in a Rio de Janeiro restaurant specialising in 'exotic birds and alligator'.

Environment Minister Phil Hogan and some of his departmental advisers clocked up bills of €133,000 jetting around the world – including €800 for a lunch in a Rio de Janeiro restaurant specialising in 'exotic birds and alligator'.

Mr Hogan and his advisers have flown the equivalent of four-and-a-half times around the globe, staying in plush hotels and resting up between flights in airport business lounges, according to documents obtained by the Sunday Independent. As they visited far-off lands in a bid to help save the environment, it has been estimated that the CO2 emissions belched out by the flights are bigger than the entire output of an island with a population of 7,000 people.

Mr Hogan, who is fronting the introduction of the hated property tax, has been out of the country 31 times since becoming Environment Minister two years ago.

His travels for conferences and meetings on behalf of the Government have taken him to Shanghai, Rio de Janeiro, Durban in South Africa and Nairobi in Kenya, as well as New York, Paris and Rome.

"The minister and the department are very aware of the costs incurred due to business conducted abroad. These trips are undertaken as part of the normal business agenda of the department and the size of delegations (which, in the main, comprise officials of the department rather than advisers, as stated) and the costs are kept to an absolute minimum at all times," according to Mr Hogan's department.

"Economy flights are the norm and 95 per cent plus of these trips have been economy class," according to a department spokesman. "Trips abroad are kept to a minimum and the minister only travels abroad on official business. The need to keep carbon emissions to a minimum is always a priority."

Spy Planes in Galway!

Spy Planes

Barroughter & Clonmoylan Bogs Action Group

“This type of Cessna plane is used by the NPWS every day of the week to spy on our people as they go about their work. We have recorded this plane flying NINE times a day over our bogs and private homes.

To fly this plane, with a crew and 2 NPWS on board costs €1,200 per hour. It flies 12 hours a day over our people at a daily cost of €14,400. This is a weekly cost of €100,800.”

NPWS ‘Rangers’ and the Black and Tans!

Posted on 6:42 AM by Unknown

Two photographs of scenes from the 2006 film, The Wind That Shakes the Barley. A modern day type of Black and Tan is trying to intimidate people in Galway. These ‘rangers’ are doing the dirty work of the European Union and trying to make criminals out of rural Irish people.

Turf cutting is under attack, a rural way of life is under attack, Tradition is under attack. You have spy planes flying over homes of people.

With turf to be cut, it is necessary to keep these ‘rangers’ out of your private property. There are laws against trespass and a God given and constitutional right to private property.

As shown in Loughrea on Wednesday, people still have common sense, the common sense and conviction to stand up for what is right and oppose what is wrong.

Posted on 2:09 PM by Unknown

Coverage is given in the 12th April edition of The Connacht Tribune, the main regional newspaper in County Galway.  A point to highlight is the aerial monitoring of bogs in South East Galway, which has increased in recent weeks.

With the four men, who are  not criminals, back in court in Galway on 28th May, you are encouraged to travel to Galway on the day for a solidarity gathering. Do tell your friends about it and make the effort to support the men on the 28th.

The following is important information

Preamble:

CONSTITUTION OF IRELAND

In the Name of the Most Holy Trinity, from Whom is all authority and to Whom, as our final end, all actions both of men and States must be referred,

We, the people of Éire,

Humbly acknowledging all our obligations to our Divine Lord, Jesus Christ, Who sustained our fathers through centuries of trial,

Gratefully remembering their heroic and unremitting struggle to regain the rightful independence of our Nation,

And seeking to promote the common good, with due observance of Prudence, Justice and Charity, so that the dignity and freedom of the individual may be assured, true social order attained, the unity of our country restored, and concord established with other nations,

Do hereby adopt, enact, and give to ourselves this Constitution.

Article 6

1.  All powers of government, legislative, executive and judicial, derive, under God, from the people, whose right it is to designate the rulers of the State and, in final appeal, to decide all questions of national policy, according to the requirements of the common good.

Article 41

1.    1° The State recognises the Family as the natural primary and fundamental unit group of Society, and as a moral institution possessing inalienable and imprescriptible rights, antecedent and superior to all positive law.

2° The State, therefore, guarantees to protect the Family in its constitution and authority, as the necessary basis of social order and as indispensable to the welfare of the Nation and the State.

Private Property

Article 43

1.    1° The State acknowledges that man, in virtue of his rational being, has the natural right, antecedent to positive law, to the private ownership of external goods.

2° The State accordingly guarantees to pass no law attempting to abolish the right of private ownership or the general right to transfer, bequeath, and inherit property.

2.    1° The State recognises, however, that the exercise of the rights mentioned in the foregoing provisions of this Article ought, in civil society, to be regulated by the principles of social justice.

2° The State, accordingly, may as occasion requires delimit by law the exercise of the said rights with a view to reconciling their exercise with the exigencies of the common good.

Hundreds gather in support of the four turf-cutters in Loughrea

Posted on 11:42 AM by Unknown

Earlier today, hundreds of people gathered in Loughrea, Co. Galway to show support for the four men, who were back in court. After the short court hearing, those assembled, marched through the town. There was fantastic support from local people and Kerry and the midland counties were well represented.

You are encouraged to attend the court in Galway on 28th May. http://www.galwaynews.ie/31043-turfcutters-be-tried-galway-circuit-court-may

This attempt to criminalise the four men is an attack on home and hearth, an attack on an Irish way of life and tradition, an attack on rural Ireland.

'Ireland is a Catholic country'

Posted on 9:39 AM by Unknown

The inquest into the death of Savita Halappanavar opened yesterday in Galway. It is well documented her death has got nothing to do with ‘being denied an abortion’ and there was never any ‘Ireland is a Catholic country’ conversation. These are allegations which have no basis in fact. In reality, Savita Halappanavar died of Septicemia.

The media, the pro-abortion groups used her death to agitate for the direct and intentional killing of the unborn child through abortion. They exploited a tragic death to push their own agenda. Many, who attended the ‘Vigils for Savita’ soon became aware their presence was being used to agitate for abortion.  Many left in disgust.

Whilst abortion is contrary to Catholic teaching, one opposes abortion because it is always wrong to directly and intentionally kill the unborn child in the womb. It is always the direct taking of human life, it is always murder. It is contrary to the law of God and the moral law.

It appears Savita Halappanavar died ESBL E. coli strain. It must be remembered her daughter died also.

It’s disgusting how people have used their deaths to agitate for ‘legalising’ abortion.

A Pensioner Writes

Posted on 5:44 AM by Unknown

A letter ‘Attack The Tax’ received from a pensioner. It is certainly true that this government and previous governments have sold out the young and the old. In reality these politicians are the mere puppets of the banking elite, who enslave people and Nations in debt that is created and uncreated.

“Date: 8th. March 2013
Re: Household Property Tax.
To Whom It May Concern:
Let there be no mistake about this, under no circumstances what so ever, will I pay this unjust tax. I am not one of the people who was responsible for the financial mess that my country now finds itself in.

Politicians, bankers, the financial sector, all driven by greed, corruption and incompetence, over paid, overbearing b******s with huge pensions and obsene severance payments, pensions ranging from €40,000 to €600,000 per year. Yet not one of them has been arrested, charged or jailed, for acts of treason against the Republic.

My income consists of my Old Age Contributory Pension, which is for my wife and myself. I bought my home 9 yeras ago and paid over €7,000 in stamp duty and now I am being penalised for working hard all my life, giving my children a decent education.

I had to leave school at 14 and a half years of age to get a job, to help out at home. I did not have the privilege of 2nd. or 3rd. level education, at 15 years of age I was working in England and in 1969 I returned to Ireland to raise my family. I paid my dues and have been loyal to my country. I have nothing more to give except my life but before I give that up I will take as many of you bastards with me as I can.

If there is any interference with my pension, I will take my revenge on as many of you lot as I can get.
There are thousands more pensioners in the country who are just as angry and frustrated as I am, and you will not beat us all into submission.

I am 73 years of age and I have f**k all more to give or lose.”

Junior Minister Seán Sherlock denies crisis in Labour Party

Posted on 4:00 PM by Unknown

Last April thousands of people stood outside the Labour Party conference in Galway in protest. 1st April is over, Seán.

http://www.rte.ie/news/2013/0406/380046-labour/

Minister of State for Research and Innovation Seán Sherlock has said that there is no crisis in the Labour Party in Government.

Speaking on RTÉ's Saturday with Claire Byrne programme, the Labour TD for Cork East said he fully acknowledged that Labour had not yet been able to deliver on child benefit and student registration fees.

He said Labour was only two years into a five-year mandate and the party felt it was probably shouldering 100% of the blame.

Mr Sherlock said the public discourse is that the decisions that have been made are largely at the door of Labour.

He said there were some people suggesting that the leadership was trying to stifle a conference.

He said it was decided by the party's executive last October not to hold a conference until autumn because of the Irish presidency of the European Union.

Mr Sherlock said Labour was going through a very difficult phase.

He said it was not the first time it has been at this juncture when it decided to go into Government in very tough economic times.

He acknowledged that there are members who have left the parliamentary party but said there was a unitary level of purpose among those who meet weekly in the party.

Earlier, more than 60 Labour Party members met in Dublin to campaign for the party's policies to be implemented in Government.

The group called for an immediate special party conference to seek an urgent review of the Programme for Government.

MEP Nessa Childers urged Labour Party members to take action to save the party and the people it represents.

Ms Childers, who yesterday resigned from Labour's parliamentary party, got a standing ovation at the meeting this morning.

She said taking a stand is not easy, but said she was sick and tired of worrying about offending the leadership.

The party is running out of time and urgent action is required, even if that means getting into conflict with Labour TDs, she said.

Labour and Damage Control!

IMF: Permanent TSB faces "acute challenges" to stay viable

Posted on 1:21 PM by Unknown

An interesting piece concerning troubled PTSB, which is  state owned.

http://www.businesspost.ie/#!story/Home/News/IMF%3A+Permanent+TSB+faces+%22acute+challenges%22+to+stay+viable/id/19410615-5218-515c-495f-02f369428366

16:24, 3 April 2013 by Bloomberg News

Permanent TSB faces “acute challenges that need to be addressed to assure its viability,” according to the International Monetary Fund.

The government decided last year to split the Dublin-based bank into a consumer lender, an asset-management unit to run down so-called uneconomic loans, and another unit for its British-based mortgages.

“PTSB as an integrated legal entity is only expected to break even in the medium term,” the IMF said in a staff report on Ireland’s bailout program, published today. “Recognising this situation, PTSB’s restructuring plan submitted to the European Commission is based on the separation of the asset management unit, which holds low-yielding and non-performing asset.”

It hasn’t been possible to “implement this approach at manageable funding cost to date,” said the IMF, part of Ireland’s so-called bailout troika.

Campaigner accuses banks of adding to suicide crisis

Posted on 4:15 PM by Unknown

Comment: Thought and Action stated before that not all bankers are banksters but speak to the person at the customer service desk of your local bank and they will go white with fear when asked about certain topics about banking. Others will stare at you with a blank face. The reality is that banks and bankers have blood on their hands.

The stark reality is that people must fight. Many will keel over. Sadly many people have killed themselves. This is never the moral thing to do. It is a David v Goliath battle but many are fighting the banks. It is important to remember a person is not alone. Support is available.

The “help” the banks are offering is in reality smoke and mirrors. Your ‘friendly’ and ‘caring’ bank manager knows the swindle of modern banking, they know the menace of banking, and these bankers have entire nations and people enslaved in debt. The politicians are the glove puppets of the Usurers.

Campaigner accuses banks of adding to suicide crisis

A man who lost two brothers to suicide has accused banks of contributing to the suicide crisis.

Suicide prevention campaigner Pat Buckley, a co-founder of the Let’s Get Together Foundation in Midleton, Co Cork, made his comments as he staged a graphic dawn protest on Cork’s St Patrick’s Bridge yesterday.
He said lending institutions “have blood on their hands” for putting pressure on people crippled by debt and already struggling to cope with the recession.

“People just can’t cope anymore,” said Mr Buckley. “The lending institutions in this country are pressuring people struggling under huge debts.
“Family members are struggling with mortgages and debt. That’s what’s killing people now. And the Government isn’t doing enough to help.”
Mr Buckley has lost two brothers to suicide. Mark took his own life in Jun 2002 aged 30, and James took his life in Sept 2003 aged 22. They are buried side by side in Midleton.

Moved by their deaths, Mr Buckley helped set up the Let’s Get Together Foundation — a voluntary suicide support group that has helped fund counselling for hundreds of people.
However, he said he has seen little or no improvement in national suicide rates. “It’s actually getting worse,” said Mr Buckley. “We reckon it’s now nearly four people a day who take their own lives.

“And we think the suicide figures are way above what is reported. My actions today were borne out of sheer frustration at the lack of an adequate State response to the problem. We really need to get people talking about it to normalise it and to find a solution.”
He was joined by Galway man Colm Farrell, who completed the 32 County Suicide Awareness Walk last week after almost four months on the road.
“I walked through villages and towns in every county and met a lot of families affected by suicide,” said Mr Farrell.
“I heard their stories and they told me that nothing is being done in this country about the problem.”

Meanwhile, Mad Pride Ireland has launched an independent fellowship based on the 12-step approach used by Alcoholics Anonymous to try to deal with the suicide crisis.
Suicide Anonymous Ireland will host its first meeting at the SMA community centre in Wilton, Cork City, at 8pm on Friday.
